Kintsugi workshop
w/ Solene Cornilleau

"Kintsugi" is a traditional Japanese art using a precious metal – liquid gold, liquid silver or lacquer dusted with powdered gold – to bring together the pieces of a broken pottery item and at the same time enhance the breaks. The technique consists in joining fragments and giving them a new, more refined aspect.

I will adapt this technique with epoxy glue and reuse broken pots.

Part 1: 金繕 Kintsugi
Part 2: 種植 repotting with plants

時間 Time: 3~4:30pm
費用 Fee: 600$
Materials provided

Cob houses in Taiwan]----------------------------------------------------------

Description:
Shengbang will introduce the basic principles of cob houses and what changes cob could possibly bring to us in Taiwan. He will touch upon what cob (and in general permaculture) means to him, and present different projects already achieved or still going in Taiwan at the moment.

Speaker: Shengbang

A restless heart is never easy to be calmed, until the earth has it with miracles. Sheng Bang started his career playing with mud only in 2018, but now he is one of the most passionate advocates in Taiwan’s natural building field and has led several workshops in South Taiwan, specializing in cob. Having worked as vast different characters from tech engineer, piano teacher to natural builder, Sheng Bang has a way with integrating various elements tactfully into his work and lead to unique techniques and style. With great love of permaculture, he believes natural building is a solution to realize residence justice in Taiwan, as well as a friendlier sustainable future.

Towards Zero-waste Life ] ----------------------------------------------------------

Description:

I am Lu Chialing, the author of Zero Waste Life, from Taichung City. I am a practitioner of zero waste life, along with my husband and six cats~
Actually, life without rubbish is very easy. It's simply a change in the habits of life.
Zero-waste life" is to produce "the least garbage" and "the lowest pollution" in the food, clothing, housing, transportation, and entertainment of daily life, but most people feel that this kind of life is really "so difficult!" Or they say "Impossible!"
I never thought that in the process of "receiving the garbage of life in a small jar," I could sort out the mess in my life, including the spiritual one, to live the ideal life that I wanted to live in my heart.

Green Deals ] ----------------------------------------------------------

Description:
他將分享private capital holders已開始crowd-in under the ESG banner,並會展示歐盟、美國與中國,以及台灣的架構。
Oshani Perera will focus on the international efforts to bring the linked goals of mitigating and adapting to climate change, net zero carbon, halting biodiversity loss, halting soil degradation and circular economy under one policy framework called the Green Deal.  She will also show that private capital holders are beginning to crowd-in under the ESG banner, and will showcase the EU, US, China, and also the frameworks in Taiwan.  Closing with a few thoughts why we can hold governments and capital holders to account in delivering a more sustainable world.

Speaker- Oshani Perera

Escape from the Path of Least Resistance ] -----------------------------

Description:
Doing right by the planet is a constant struggle when the “paths of least resistance” in our daily lives lead to environmental harm. How is it possible for individuals to take truly meaningful action when living in a wasteful, fossil fuel-powered society that discourages the right choices? This talk explores how initiatives in Taiwan reduce the social and economic friction in making decisions that support the environment, and create long-term systematic change.
